Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Analysis: Perform routine and advanced chemical and instrumental analysis of water, wastewater, air, and soil samples. Operate and maintain instruments such as Spectrophotometer, AAS, ICP-OES, GC, GC-MS, TOC Analyzer, and BOD/COD systems. Ensure all tests are performed according to approved SOPs and test methods (APHA, IS, BIS, EPA).
- Quality & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of analysis, calibration, and environmental conditions as per ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Participate in method validation, uncertainty measurement, and traceability documentation. Review test reports and ensure data integrity. Maintain calibration logs, reagent preparation records, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Supervision & Training: Guide and train junior chemists and laboratory technicians. Review their work and ensure adherence to laboratory safety and quality protocols. Assist in internal audits, proficiency testing, and management review meetings.
- Instrumentation & Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instruments. Coordinate with service engineers for repairs and annual maintenance contracts (AMCs). Maintain instrument performance logs and calibration certificates.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow lab safety procedures, chemical handling protocols, and waste disposal norms. Ensure environmental monitoring and compliance with statutory and client-specific requirements.
