Environmental Monitoring

CPCB-recognised stack emission, ambient & indoor air, soil, sludge, hazardous waste and used-oil monitoring for regulatory compliance.

Overview

Environmental Monitoring at CVR Labs

As a CPCB-recognised environmental laboratory (recognised under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986) and NABL-accredited testing facility, CVR Labs delivers environmental monitoring to the standards required by CPCB and State Pollution Control Boards.

Field sampling, on-site measurement and laboratory analysis follow CPCB and IS methods, using calibrated equipment and GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, HPLC, AAS, GC, IC and UV-Vis. The resulting data is formatted for consent-to-operate, environmental-clearance compliance and statutory reporting, and is backed by approved Government Analysts.

Why It Matters

Why this testing matters

Regulatory Mandate

CPCB and State Pollution Control Boards require periodic stack, ambient air, soil and waste monitoring as a condition of operating consent.

Worker & Public Health

Airborne particulates, gases and VOCs damage health. Monitoring verifies that controls keep exposures within statutory limits.

Consent & Clearance

Consent-to-operate, environmental clearance and EC compliance reports all depend on data from a CPCB-recognised laboratory.

Liability Shield

Documented, accredited environmental data is your primary defence in inspections, audits and pollution disputes.

Regulatory Context

Where these results are used

Environment (Protection) Act, 1986

The umbrella legislation under which CPCB recognises environmental laboratories and sets monitoring requirements.

Air & Water Acts — Consent to Operate

Industries must monitor stack, ambient air and effluent as conditions of consent issued by State Pollution Control Boards.

NAAQS, 2009

National Ambient Air Quality Standards define limits for PM10, PM2.5, SO2, NOx, CO, ozone and others.

Hazardous & Other Wastes Rules, 2016

Waste must be characterised (including TCLP) and managed per the rules before disposal.

Noise Pollution Rules, 2000

Ambient and source noise must be monitored against prescribed day/night limits.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are you authorised for environmental monitoring?
Yes. CVR Labs is recognised by the Central Pollution Control Board (MoEF&CC) as an Environmental Laboratory under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, and is NABL-accredited.
Do you carry out on-site sampling?
Yes. We perform iso-kinetic stack sampling, ambient and indoor air sampling, noise monitoring and soil/waste sampling with calibrated equipment and trained personnel.
Will the report support consent and clearance compliance?
Yes. Reports are formatted for submission to CPCB / State Pollution Control Boards for consent-to-operate and environmental-clearance compliance.
How quickly are results available?
Field measurements are typically reported within 5–7 working days; speciated organics and metals may take longer. Rush reporting can be arranged.
Do you have approved Government Analysts?
Yes. Our CPCB recognition includes approved Government Analysts, lending statutory weight to environmental reports.
Can you monitor ambient air for an EIA?
Yes. We conduct NAAQS-compliant ambient air, noise, water and soil baseline surveys for EIA and EC compliance.
Do you characterise hazardous waste?
Yes. We perform TCLP leachate and hazardous-characteristic testing for classification and disposal under the Hazardous Waste Rules, 2016.
What about workplace / indoor air?
We assess work-environment and indoor air quality — dust, gases, VOCs and comfort parameters — for occupational compliance.
